From Thursday 3rd January 2019, McDonald’s UK will be adding the new Veggie Deluxe to its core menu.
The new burger will be joined by The Spicy Veggie One and Happy Meal Veggie Wrap.

Both Plant Based News and LIVEKINDLY recently reported on the news of the new veggie items when they published the image below.
We can now confirm that the Veggie Deluxe will be on the menu from the date above.
As we have speculated previously, these new veggie menu changes will see the discontinuation of the Vegetable Deluxe and Spicy Vegetable Deluxe – our review here.
The new veggie menu items will see the disappearance of the current Vegetable Patty, to be replaced by Red Pesto Veggie Goujons – yes a burger with two goujons in it. Sound familiar?
Of course, we have also been privy to some leaked information but we are not in a position to publish the imagery we have been sent.
Let’s just say it contains all the information on the new veggie additions to the menu.
As reported by the other outlets, the Veggie Deluxe features Red Pesto Veggie Goujons, sandwich sauce and shredded lettuce in a sesame topped bun.
The new Spicy Veggie One comes in new green packaging to distinguish it from the other Big Flavour Wraps and includes spicy relish, tomato, lettuce and red onion in a soft tortilla wrap.
Finally, the Happy Meal Veggie Wrap consists of one of the new goujons with shredded lettuce and tomato ketchup all wrapped up in a small soft tortilla wrap.
As mentioned, we had heard of the changes to the veggie menu back in November but were waiting for something more concrete before running with it.
After the spoiler by Plant Based News and LIVEKINDLY and this new information we can confirm that the new Veggie Menu will be at McDonald’s UK from Thursday 3rd January 2019.

Hmm, looks like a veggie finger sandwich but I’ll give it a go. It’s nice that the Happy Meal finally has a veggie option (other than a cheese roll).
I absolutely hate it. Same usual vegetable taste as every cheap veggie burger, bunged full of cheap root vegetable. I really liked the Spicy Veggie Deli, which was a refreshing change of a falafel style patty, opposed to the insipid medley expected in any frozen veggie patty. Ohh, they have made it into two Goujons so that it looks different. Another penny pinching method used to make it universal for wraps and burgers (except it doesn’t work in burgers). Congratulations on ‘one giant leap backwards’ for Veggiekind!
I hate it, too. I don’t go to McDonald’s often, but the vegetable deluxe was actually good. The veggie deluxe is no different than frozen veggie sticks that can be bought at any supermarket or takeaway. It’s like they don’t get that vegetarians like flavour! If it had to be replaced with something, a black bean patty would have been better and probably would have gotten more sales. As it is, there’s not much reason to go to McDonald’s now.
i don’t understand why they have taken veggie deluxe and spicy veggie deli off the menu, the veggie goujons are awful they taste horrible and the sauce with it even disgusting why cant they bring the old veggie deluxe back. there isn’t much choice for vegetarian
HATE IT!!!! Taste like cheap crap!! Bring back the old veggie deluxe. Till then i shall not be having Macdonalds again.
