WORLD EXCLUSIVE:

Burger Lad® does it again as we reveal the five winning My Burger promotional burgers starting on Wednesday 15th October for five weeks.

As you know we made it to the final but sadly we were not picked to be one of the five.

Never mind though as we are more than happy to be reviewing these new consumer designed promotional items.

Remember we were also the first in the world to reveal the winning items in our tweet on 01st October – we’d also revealed the Volcano Fragment to be a winner way back on 12th September but the name has been changed to the Sweet Chilli Fiesta by Ronald and friends.

So here they are…

Week 1 – Big Uno by Tammy Rose. Available 15/10/14 to 21/10/14.

Sesame Topped Bun, Mayo, Red Onions, Shredded Iceberg Lettuce, Cheese Slices, Tomato Ketchup, Streaky Bacon, 100% Beef Patty.

Week 2 – Sweet Chilli Fiesta by Harry Lloyd. Available 22/10/14 to 28/10/14.

Paprika Topped Bun, Habanero Sweet Chilli Sauce, Crispy Fried Onions, Red & Yellow Peppers, Shredded Iceberg Lettuce, Cheese Slices with Peppers, Maple Cured Bacon, 100% Beef Patty.

Week 3 – The Ultimate Supreme by Dave Wright. Available 29/10/14 to 04/11/14.

Sesame Topped Bun, Black Pepper Mayo, Red Onions, Shredded Iceberg Lettuce, Tomato Ketchup, Emmental Cheese, Maple Cured Bacon, 100% Beef Patty.

Chilli, Chive & Sesame Topped Bun, Piri Piri Mayo, Jalapeno Slices, Onions, Shredded Iceberg Lettuce, Cheese Slices with Peppers, Streaky Bacon, 100% Beef Patty.

If you haven’t seen it McDonald’s have featured the following video on their website showing highlights from the My Burger final – of course Burger Lad® is the star of the show…

And MASSIVE congratulations to the five winners! We really cannot wait to review each of your burgers!

Well done Admiral on this breaking news story!

We were contacted on day one of the Big Uno sending us a link to this additional My Burger video which has since been made publicly available. Check it out now!

Here is our update after reviewing all five burgers including our ranking…

Now we first heard about McDonald’s My Burger coming to the UK way back in early 2014.

It’s been a long and exciting promotion for us including submitting our own creation and then being part of the finals in London. And we’ll never, ever forget that experience… the big question is will McDonald’s bring My Burger back to the UK?

Based on the near 100,000 burger entries and the semi Twitter frenzy we’d hedge a bet on yes but possibly not until 2016 at the earliest. Don’t quote us on that!

It’s not been without its share of controversy either with the Big Uno originally submitted as a gluten free option and the partial fallout of it not being made GF when it finally hit the High Street.

Will an overall “winner” be crowned out of the final five based on the voting through the McD’s website?

To us it doesn’t matter if a champion emerges, as seeing five new McDonald’s burgers on the High Street means we’re all winners deep down… with that let us take a look at how our unbiased taste test ranking experiment went.

Please note the scores below were based on four people unaffiliated with our website scoring each burger 1 (least favourite) to 5 (most enjoyable).

Using advanced statistical methods we then analysed the data and ranked the burgers accordingly. Points are included in brackets, with four people participating 20 is the maximum score a burger could have achieved.

1. The Big Spicy Bacon (18)

2. Sweet Chilli Fiesta (15)

3. McPizza Pepperoni (12)

4. The Ultimate Supreme (9)

5. The Big Uno (6)

I think the burgers all look the same its a real shame as there was so many cool options that I've never seen at Mcdonalds like brioche bun and the pineapple seems to me they picked the easiest to make.

McDonalds didnt 'pick' any burgers based on how easy they were to make!…….the public voted for the 12 best burgers from a selection of 110,000 burgers submitted.
The best 12 or 11 in this case were then judged by a carefully scrunised panel at McDonalds headquarters on 29.06.14 and those voted the best were selected to be made and sold in 1,200 Mcdonalds restaurants this October/November.

We know the process as I was one of the finalists. I think it was more like 98,000-ish.
