McDonald’s Original Sauce – Germany
McDonald’s Germany will be offering customers a free bottle of sauce when they purchase anything from the McMenu from Monday 15th May 2017.
Branded as Original Sauce and available in 140ml bottles, the range is produced by Develey – a German sauce and condiment manufacturer established in 1845, which has been supplying McDonald’s Europe since 1971.
McDonald’s Original Sauce comes in five different flavours:
Sweet & Sour
The McMenu features regular McDonald’s favourites such as the Big Mac, McRib and Big Tasty with Bacon, so it seems you literally buy a medium or large meal and get a bottle of random(?) sauce while stocks last.
The email which was sent to McDonald’s Germany VIP members also offers subscribers the chance to win one of twenty exclusive packages containing all five of the sauces. The closing date for entries is 14th May.
WHERE IS THE BIG MAC SPECIAL SAUCE!?
Getting McDonald’s branded sauce in bottles isn’t particularly new.
This promotion is similar to when McDonald’s Australia were giving away bottles of Big Mac sauce.
You’ve also been able to buy McD’s Ketchup in Germany for a number of years and in Canada you can now buy Big Mac, McChicken and Filet-O-Fish sauces at retail.
As of 12th May, they’ve also decided to cash in on the recent ‘Rick and Morty’ Szechuan sauce story.
What do you think of the McDonald’s Original Sauce promotion in Germany?
Would you like to see something similar in the UK?
And which of the five sauces would you want the most? And why no Big Mac sauce!?
Right then… who is off to Germany after 15th May? Get in touch if you would like to send us a bottle!
EDIT: Don’t worry… by May 16th, our good friends at McD’s Germany had sent us a set!
