What a week it has been…!?

We had our fantastic weekend break at the stunning Malvern Lodge (pics and videos here) and also launched our BRAND NEW LOGO!!!

Oh, and I also FINALLY got around to reviewing the Cheesy Garlic Bites at McDonald’s.

McDonald's Cheese Sides

Talk about arriving fashionably late to the party. This cheese side was first available around August 2021 and recently returned to The Golden Arches on 27/04 and will be on-sale until 07/06.

I’m sure they will feature on the menu again in the future too…

As with any of our reviews, it is all rather subjective based on personal taste – I’m sure you have various opinions of the Cheesy Garlic Bites.

Love them? Hate them? Neutral about them? Haven’t even tried them and won’t be?

That probably covers most opinion bases.

Me? I didn’t like them. Sampling these felt like a real come-down after the (IMO) magnificent Chilli Cheese Bites.

Cheesy Garlic Bites

Available in a portion of 5 or as a Sharebox (intended to serve 3 people I will add!), I would rank the Cheesy Garlic Bites as one of the worst cheese sides from McDonald’s.

Again, just my personal opinion.

They come with the Rich Tomato Dip which I am a massive fan of and if it wasn’t for that accompanying sauce, I don’t think I could have finished the 4th and 5th.

Speaking of sauces and the Chilli Cheese Bites, Captain QP had a spectacular idea on the podcast for if/when these ever return – pair them with the Spicy Tomato Dip which came with the Spicy Chicken McNuggets.

Cheesy Garlic Bites

Back to the Cheesy Garlic Bites.

Described as “a blend of Mozzarella and Emmental cheese in a garlic herb coating” I found they were extremely sickly. Hence, struggling to finish 5 of the small things… let alone 15!

A friend who accompanied me to the restaurant had already tried them the weekend before and she had commented about “feeling sick after eating them” and refused to have even one on this occasion.

I would be interested to hear if others have encountered similar experiences…

Cheesy Garlic Bites

Like I keep harping on about, it is all down to personal taste and preference, but for me, the McDonald’s Cheesy Garlic Bites were/are a massive thumbs down.

Fear not though my faithful BURGER LAD® supporters.

Our good friend Secret Sauce (thank you so much again!) got in touch a week or so ago to reveal the next promotion(s) coming in June. And I think you will be genuinely excited.

Maybe.

All will be revealed in our next episode of the award-winning podcast which is scheduled to be recorded on Sunday 15th May. #saveitforthepodcast

You won’t want to miss that one (or any of the others!!).

The Cheesy Garlic Bites were disappointing and left a sickly taste on my palate. In retrospect, I should have just consigned them to the past and kept them there where they belong.

Oh well, it was only two quid.

I love them 🙈 I’m always excited to be able to get some when I travel to England (the menu is different in France)
Didn’t even know they had a sharebox or I would have gotten that for myself yesterday lol.
