McDonald’s Cheese Melt Dippers
Review of McDonald’s Cheese Melt Dippers
What they say:
Four breaded cheese dippers made with indulgent Camembert, served with a Festive Tomato Dip.
Price: £1.69.
Calories: 257 kcal (not including dip).
The first impression of the Cheese Melt Dippers is definitely a positive one (whether that is enough to get McDonald’s off the Naughty List for not including the Mixed Berry and Custard Pie as part of their Festive line-up, we shall have to see).
The crispy coating looks very tempting; rich and golden, flecked with subtle herbs and an extra crunch.
Biting into the middle, you get a lovely Camembert flavour – not too strong, but enough to make you think that what you’re enjoying is indeed special – exactly how all food should be around Christmas.
The sauce was a little too rich for me at first, but unless my mind is playing tricks on me there is definitely a note of cranberry there, which is perfect with this style of cheese, and certainly very festive.
I think these could even give the Nacho Cheese Wedges a nudge off the top spot!
Sure, the Nacho Cheese ones had the best crispy coating I’ve had so far, but the combination of the cheese, the coating and the Festive Tomato Dip really hit the nail on the head as a true Festive side.
They definitely feel more of a festive menu item than the Christmas Chicken Warmer.
Fancy a menu hack? Use these with a Chicken Legend (with no mayo or lettuce) to replicate a festive version of our infamous Italian McChicken.
Is this recurring menu item your favourite cheese side at McDonald’s?

Hi there,
regarding the McDonalds Christmas menu, they sometimes have the Mincemeat and Custard ‘Festive Pie’ and here is a link to a photo of the Christmas 2013 version:

You mention The Mixed Berry and Custard Pie. This came out once in January 2015 (Please note NOT Christmas) for a period of six weeks and again here is a link to a photo of it:
