KFC Zinger Popcorn Bucket

Zinger Popcorn Chicken

KFC Zinger Popcorn Bucket

KFC Zinger Popcorn Bucket Review:

Price: £5.99.

Calories: 727 kcal.

KFC have launched a new limited time offer in the UK called the Zinger Popcorn Bucket or Zinger Popcorn Chicken Bucket.

You can either have it on its own (I think 727 calories in one sitting is more than enough!) or upgrade to a Zinger Popcorn Bucket Meal – served with your choice of side and a drink (£7.49).

Bit of a generalisation, but the Zinger remains a popular choice with KFC fans in the UK so it makes perfect sense to spice up the regular Popcorn Chicken with that famous Zinger coating.

Where’s that Chizza though?

This mini bucket of spicy Popcorn Chicken is pretty decent but can get a bit “samey” after a while – recommend sharing one with whatever else you order at KFC.

I just sampled the Zinger Popcorn Bucket as it is.

When I ordered, I asked if it came with any sauces and was told it didn’t. The friendly guy serving asked if I wanted any so I replied “ah OK thanks, a BBQ and a spicy one maybe?”

I was given two Supercharger Mayo sauces… can’t grumble really.

They’re quite fiery little pieces of Popcorn Chicken – not silly spice levels obviously, but they start to wear you down after a bit. If you don’t have any sauce (or a drink!) with these, you’re gonna have a pretty dry mouth very soon!

As you can see from the pictures, I scattered the Zinger Popcorn Chicken over a serviette – it’s a menu item you can’t really “tart up” for photos.

Of course, I decided I wanted to eat them back out of the original packaging so obviously I had to count how many pieces of Popcorn Chicken you receive in this mini-bucket. Sad I know.

I can confirm, in my serving I received 52 pieces. One for every week of the year! Wooooo.

How does it compare to the regular Popcorn Chicken?

Well, Captain QP was with me and he had the standard issue and actually commented that the Zinger version was “a bit dryer”.

In the comparison picture below, you can definitely see the difference in the coating.

Overall, a nice upgrade on the standard Popcorn Chicken at KFC – it’s not something I would normally order and associate it more with a kids’ menu item.

Make sure you ask for sauce as you will need it and this is definitely best served shared!

I’m glad to have sampled it but certainly won’t be rushing out again to have it. A decent spice level but to be honest, I’d rather just have a Zinger Tower Burger.

The Zinger Popcorn Bucket is on-sale at over 750 KFC restaurants until Sunday 31st October subject to availability.
