KFC Dragon’s Hen

KFC Dragon’s Hen

KFC are launching a new promotion called KFC Dragon’s Hen.

Playing off the popular BBC TV series with a similar name, KFC’s Dragon’s Hen pits two employee creations against each other, with the winner presumably getting a UK-wide release.

El Diablo

“This bad boy has a Nashville Hot Sprinkled Bun, Jalapeno Mayo, Apollo Lettuce, A Zinger Fillet, Spicy Mexican Cheese, Tortilla Chips and a Generous Dash of Piri Piri Hot Sauce.”

#Burger

“This ‘No-Filter Needed’ Burger has a Brioche Bun, Supercharger Sauce, two Original Recipe Mini Fillets, Cheese, Bacon, two more Original Recipe Mini Fillets the opposite way (the #), Cheese and Chilli Jam.”

Which will you be voting for?

YOU CAN VOTE BY CLICKING THE LINK TO KFC’s WEBSITE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST.

If you remember, we attended a KFC Secret Menu Hack event – details here.

And more recently KFC have been doing a Menu Hack Series which started with Candian Poutine.

It seems KFC are asking both staff and members of the public to share their creations with the rest of the world.

If Dragon’s Hen is popular and gets plenty of votes, perhaps we may see a further promo similar to McDonald’s crowd-sourcing, build-a-burger My Burger?

UPDATE: THIS JUST IN FROM KFC

KFC needs you. The chicken aficionados want fans to choose which burger will join its finger lickin’ good line-up.

The Dragon’s Hen competition asked KFC team members to come up with the most innovative burger recipes and find the next big thing. After an intense round of taste tests, only two burgers have made it through to the public vote.

The competition received thousands of entries from KFC employees across the country. The team members who submitted the top five ideas were invited to develop and refine their creations in KFC’s Innovation Kitchen at its Head Office.

Burger creations included The Big Roast (a Yorkshire Pudding wrap filled with all the trimmings), the Carolina Sunshine Stacker (your two favourites in a stacker, the Original Recipe Fillet and Zinger, balanced by creamy Carolina sauce) and finally the Garlic Royale (a brioche bun filled with pesto, garlic mayo and topped with an Original Recipe Fillet).

However, it was the El Diablo and #Burger that wowed the bosses at Head Office….

El Diablo burger:

Created by James Foxton, a Team Leader from KFC Durham City Retail Park, the fiery El Diablo places a crispy Zinger fillet on a bed of jalapeno mayo and Piri Piri hot sauce. It’s topped with a slice of Mexicana cheese and crunchy nachos, finished with a paprika dusted bun.

#Burger:

Developed by Rick Holt from the KFC Recruitment team, the #Burger is Instaready and perfect for the people who like to share anything and everything. Placed on fan-favourite Supercharger sauce, two Original Recipe mini fillets are stacked and topped with Monteray Jack cheese. Two more Original Recipe mini fillets are positioned and then topped with crispy bacon, chilli jam and another slice of Monteray Jack cheese.

Now KFC wants to hear your verdict. All fans need to do is head over to the voting page here from today and pick their winner. They’ll need to move fast as voting closes on 12 December.

Chris Fells, Product Excellence Director at KFC UK & Ireland and ‘Dragons Hen’ judge, commented: “We’re always looking to experiment with our menu and bring new flavours to the line-up.

Our team know our food the best, with many of them already getting creative with the menu on their lunch breaks, so we thought who better to discover the next big thing?

Whether it’s the indulgent #Burger or the spicy El Diablo, we’re excited to hear what the public think and find out the latest addition of our menu.”

The final burger will be featured on the menu at the winner’s chosen restaurant.
