Burger King Upside Down Whopper

Burger King Upside Down Whopper

Upside Down Whopper:

Burger King USA are apparently launching an Upside Down Whopper to celebrate season three of hit Netflix show, Stranger Things.

Couldn’t help think of the Lucky Chip Hopper Whopper when I saw this.

By the way, we think this is a botch by Men’s Health as it appears they have published this press release early and then removed if from their site.

Either that, or April Fools has come very late…

Original details here:

Burger King has announced the arrival of The Upside Down Whopper, cleverly named after everyone’s favourite alternate universe.

The burger features the exact same ingredients as the original Whopper (flame-grilled beef topped with tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles and sliced white onions on a sesame seed bun), but The Upside Down Whopper is served, well, upside down.

According to the article we saw, The Upside Down Whopper will be available starting on June 21st, but only in eleven select restaurants in ten states:

10494 West Sample Road, Coral Springs, FL, 33065
25560 Kingsland Boulevard, Katy, Texas, 77494
128 Tremont Street, Boston, Massachusetts, 02108
415 Bullsboro Drive, Newnan, Georgia, 30263
2400 Caster Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19134
2009 Coit Road, Plano, Texas, 75075
2840 West North Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60647
35 Powell Street, San Francisco, California, 94012
4918 West Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, 90027
327 West 42nd Street, New York, NY, 10036
1437 West Patapsco Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, 21230

The burger will be available while supplies last, and they’ll come in limited-edition sandwich packaging.

Those eleven restaurants will also have limited edition t-shirts, crowns, ketchup packets and pins inspired by Stranger Things.

Additionally, from today(?) through June 20, Burger King customers can purchase a “Hopper Meal”- which includes a Whopper, small drink and small fries-through DoorDash for $5, with no delivery fees on orders of $10 or more when using the code “STRANGER.”

That deal is of course named for Police Chief Jim Hopper, a popular Stranger Things character.

All customers who order a Hopper Meal through DoorDash with that code before June 20 will also gain access to exclusive Stranger Things content from Season 3. After June 20, DoorDash will continue to offer the Hopper Meal for $5.00 with no delivery fees until July 7 with the promo code “HOPPER.”

– Ends –

This video is also showing as unlisted on the BK USA YouTube account:

The article showed up on Yahoo Lifestyle and a quick Google search showed the original page from Men’s Health but has since been removed with a 404 error page.

Perhaps the page has joined Barb in the Upside Down?

So… is the Upside Down Whopper coming to Burger King USA?

Stranger things have happened…

P.S. We always stick to embargo when we get press releases.
