It is no secret that Burger King have been testing the meat-free Impossible Whopper in one location in the USA.

We have received the following information from BK and they are now extending the test. Full details below.

PRESS RELEASE:

MIAMI – May 14, 2019 – After a successful test in St. Louis, MO, BURGER KING® restaurants is taking the plant-based Impossible™ WHOPPER® sandwich to three new markets.

Starting today, guests can visit their local restaurants in Miami, FL, Columbus, GA and Montgomery, AL to try the Impossible™ WHOPPER® and decide for themselves if it delivers the same flame-grilled, juicy craveability of the infamous BURGER KING® restaurants WHOPPER® sandwich.

The Impossible™ WHOPPER® is “All WHOPPER®. No beef.”

It consists of a flame-grilled patty made from plants topped with freshly sliced tomatoes and onions, crisp lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup and crunchy pickles on a toasted sesame seed bun.

To celebrate the roll out of the Impossible™ WHOPPER®, BURGER KING® restaurants are pulling out all the stops.

An Impossible™ WHOPPER® Tour Bus will roll through each new market for a limited time only, offering all sorts of games, music, and free swag to celebrate the launch of the plant-based burger.

The tour kicks off in Miami, FL May 16-18, then makes its way to Columbus, GA May 20-21, and Montgomery, AL on May 22. Visit Facebook.com/BurgerKing to track the tour locations.

This April, BURGER KING® restaurants became the first coast-to-coast quick-service restaurant to serve the award-winning, plant-based patty from food startup Impossible Foods, maker of the Impossible™ patty.

BURGER KING® restaurants plans on making the Impossible™ WHOPPER® available to all guests nationwide by the end of 2019.

With news that KFC UK are looking at bringing a vegan option to their menu, it looks like the race is on to be the first fast food chain to offer a decent meat-free/alternative burger to UK consumers.
