KFC Zinger Burger

Review of KFC Zinger Burger

What they say:

What does the Zinger Burger taste like? Picture a disco mirrorball hanging from the roof of your mouth and instead of light, it’s taste bouncing around your mouth like a tingle wave. And that’s what the Zinger Burger tastes like.

Price: £3.49 for the burger only.

Calories: 450 kcal.

I have had the KFC Zinger Burger many a time, and decided to re-visit my original review.

If I reviewed it every time I ate it, we’d have to rename this site Zingerlad.com. It’s that GOOD.

However, with the news that the Zinger Burger is due to land in America (yep, fast food is a two way street), I thought I’d love to revisit one of the high street superstars.

KFC Zinger Burger

At the time of writing, the Zinger on the main menu is still accompanied by the Zinger Stacker albeit the latter is about to be replaced by a new promotion. The regular Zinger of course is a main menu item and will be staying. Thankfully.

By high street standards, the Zinger Burger is quite spicy – and that is what makes it so great, it draws you in, wanting more. I was more than happy to get my hands on one again.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the price remains the same as it was three years ago

Taking it out of the box, I found the familiar bun, chicken, lettuce and pepper mayo. All very nicely put together.

The bun and the lettuce looked and tasted fresh. The chicken, KFC’s hero of course, was wonderfully crispy on the outside and fantastically juicy on the inside.

The spice though, is why this is consistently one of my favourites.

As I’ve said before, it’s not going to sate those who like food challenge levels of heat, but it sits perfectly on the Scoville scale for its place in the market.

It is also very well named and instantly recognisable, almost as much as the Colonel himself.

The black pepper mayo underneath keeps this from feeling dry in any way and makes for a slightly messy affair, something I enjoy to an extent.

The chicken itself was very generously proportioned – sticking out of the bun cheekily, and largely disguising the seasoning that sets it way above KFC’s regular fillet.

So there you have it. The KFC Zinger Burger, still a superstar. America, you’ll love it!

Only problem with the Zinger….several people I know, who regularly eat spicy food and have no problems, have severely upset stomach after a Zinger (my BF for one!) But its a really satisfying burger…love it

Only reason why it gives your boyfriend an upset stomach is because he clearly cant handle spicy food. Never heard of anyone having an upset tummy after a zinger what a light weight haha maybe he should just stick to british fish and chips eh no mayo.. corrr might be too spicy.

How does this compare to a normal chicken burger or a zinger stacker? Any reviews in Burger Lad anyone could point me to? 🙂

It adds on a hash brown which makes it 10x better.
